What is Schupfnudel?

Schupfnudel or Schupfnudeln in plural is a type of rolled noodle. Food is similar to dumplings, but is smaller in size and more resembles Italian gnocchi or pasta. It is common in southern Germany and Austria. This is because one shapes the noodles with the fingers manually and also because the finished noodles are roughly the size of the fat fingers. Another name for food similar to pasta is Bubespitzle, which literally translates into the "boys' penises. In most recipes there are basic spices such as salt and pepper. Muscat is also a common spice. The precise spice usually depends on other meals of cooks with fingers noodles.
