What is the flexor muscles?

Flexor muscle is any muscles that bend part of the body on the joint. The contraction of the flexor muscle causes a reduction in the angle between two bones, as with knee bending. Flexor muscles are a type of skeletal muscle, or one that moves the bones and is controlled voluntarily. Some examples of flexor muscles are the hip flexors that bend the hips and move the thigh to the body and biceps that bends the elbows and moves the forearm towards the shoulder.

Skeletal muscles are one of three types of muscles: smooth, cardiac and church. There are four types of skeletal muscles that are categorized according to the type of movement they perform. These include flexors, extenders, kidnappers and aductors. The muscles that bend ankle or fingers are called plantar flexors and dorsiflexors rather than flexors and extension muscles. Often, many muscles cooperate on the bending of the joint. For example, knee bending includes the use of biceps femoris, semitendinosus, semimembranosus and at least six other muscles.

Most flexors are located in the sagittal plane of the body, which is an imaginary line that intersects the body into its front and rear parts. To move the bend and extension, they usually occur in the direction of front forward backwards, while the movements from the side side are carried out kidnapping and aductors. Because muscles can only stretch and not push, they usually work in groups of two antagonistic muscles. The flexor muscle works opposite the extension muscle that increases the angle or straightens the joint.

strong flexor hip muscles can be important in many activities that include jumping and running. The hip flexor muscle, or iliopsoas, consists of smaller muscles called rectus femoris, PSOAS Major and Illiacus. The injury of these muscles is common and can be prevented by strengthening muscle, slowly heating and stretching after use. Flexors of the hip can be reinforced by exercises such as hanging legs or sitting, but non -underars should be truthfulSimilarly, to avoid aggressive hip flexors training, because exaggerated hips flexors contribute to back pain.

Some doctors believe that the recurring hand bending can contribute to the development of the carpal tunnel syndrome. Although this syndrome is caused by compression and inflammation of the nerves in the wrist, repeated hands bending can irritate and impair other factors that cause symptoms. Doctors no longer see the work of the computer as a primary cause, but can prescribe rest and hand splints that help prevent the symptoms that can cause repeated flexion of the hand.
