What is the performance review?

at school, every quarter or semester you have received stamps and suggests how well you did in meeting the objects of the teacher and standards set by the teacher for learning material. It could have been happy times, with grades that really reflected your performance, or could be full of tension, whether you were going to go through the class. In both cases, these early experiences do not differ from the review of the performance, regular occurrence in the workplace, where they formally or informally assess your work performance over a period of time. In some cases, favorable performance reviews may be met with increasing or promotion, while unfavorable can help employees correct problems or mistakes with their work.

It is generally standard to review the power annually. Some companies may have less formal more often. These monthly or quarterly checks may be beneficial to the work environment because it provides them with consistent feedbackin areas in which they have to improve.

For employees who do not perform at maximum capacity, the annual performance review can be too long to wait for the areas that the employee has to change. Employers will sometimes carry out performance reviews based on 'need'. An employee who does something that requires correction gets feedback earlier to adapt their skills to better increase performance.

performance review can assess several aspects of your work, for example:

  • work performance - did you meet the goals, worked according to the standards set by the employer, be as productive as the company demanded, etc.?
  • basic work skills - you are regularly onDid they install work in time and adapted to dressing, etc.?

When employers are preparing to check performance, employees should also prepare. If the review is annual, it is good to think and create a list of specific examples that show where your performance has met or exceeds the company standards in the last year. It is probably also beneficial to acknowledge any mistakes you made, so you are ready for them if they are listed in the review. You can think of ways if you have made the mistakes you have improved since you have improved because they can help you defend yourself against an extremely negative performance review.

It may be difficult to receive a negative performance review, and although it is tempting to respond immediately to it, you should have a cold time before you react or offer any defense of your actions. It is too easy to be angry and sound uncommon if you start defending yourself immediately. Take a day or two days instead and read a review andDo some self -security to decide if any critics are justified.

If a day or two, criticism seems to not reflect your work performance, write a justified defense that quotes specific examples of your performance. Keep the professional and non -confrontational tone and do your argument through specific examples of how certain criticisms were not true. In a big society, a person sometimes receives an undeserved negative review. It depends very much on how you professionally give your objections to unfair critics, if you hope it will change your employer's opinion on you. If criticism is justified, take them in the way it offers them: as an opportunity to learn to improve your work performance.
