What does the tail shooter do?

Tail shooter runs a rear weapon on a military aircraft. The tail shooter, who protects the plane from the back attack, fires on the approaching enemy aircraft and warns other shooters of all the threatening slops approaching from behind. The tail shooter, commonly equipped with two 0.50 machine guns or Gatling® electric weapons, has sufficient firepower to thwart most of the threats.
