What is the casein test?

Casein test is used to determine whether a person is allergic or sensitive to casein, protein in milk. There are several different ways to test this allergy. If the test shows that the person is allergic to casein and instead has any other sensitivity to milk, he will have to make some lifestyle adjustments. Casein sensitivity or allergy may have a number of symptoms that move in severity. Several casein tests may be required for a certain period of time to achieve an accurate result. A skin casein test can also be carried out in which a small amount of casein is inserted into the skin to see if an allergic reaction occurs. People who are looking for casein from your diet to test sensitivity or because it has been diagnosed as an allergic need to carefully read the labels on food to check the milk raw materials and the word casein anywhere on the ingredient list. Foods that are marked as vegan do not contain casein, but food without lactose is not necessarily without casein.

The severity of this allergy varies. Some people have stomach cramps, rash, clogged nose, itching and other unpleasant but intrepid symptoms. A small number of people are extremely sensitive to the fact that they can go to anaphylactic shock that could lead to death if milk consumed. The rate to which one will have to avoid contact with casein may also differ from the ability to consume its small amounts sometimes to the degree of sensitivity that foods processed on the same surface as dairy products can cause an allergic reaction.

Many infants are allergic to milk, including casein allergy, but they grow over a few years. It is possible that allergies develop at any age, so the casein test can be performed whenever there is a suspected allergy. Lactose intolerance is the most common reason for people who have problems with dairy products, and the real casein allergy is rare.
