What are the seeds of Achiote?

Achiote seeds are small, triangular, rusty colored seeds produced by Anatto tree. This small tree or shrub grows mainly in tropical forests of South America. The seeds are a common ingredient in the Caribbean, Spanish and Indian cooking.
