What are isoflavones?

Isoflavones are a type of organic compound found in certain types of plants. Along with many other types of plant compounds, they are called phytonutrients because of recent scientific evidence that indicates important roles that play in nutrition and health. Some isoflavones are also known as phytoestrogens because they are able to mimic the effects of estrogen in humans.

The most common sources of isoflavones in food are soybeans and soy products such as Miso and Tofu. Other sources of these phytonutrients include legumes such as Kudzu, Fava beans, chickpeas, peanuts, red clover and alfalfa. The plants that produce these molecules do so as protection against mushrooms and other microorganisms causing the disease. Soy plants also use these compounds as a means to increase the concentration of nitrogen soil, the necessary plant nutrients.

There is a lot of evidence that suggests positive rolilid health for some typesIsoflavone, but other compounds in this category have negative effects. A large number of contradictory evidence concerning these phytonutrients is partly because the category of isoflavone includes many different compounds, including phytoestrogens and antioxidants.

Isoflavones may have deep protective effects on human health. Regularly consuming soy products have been shown in several studies that provide protection against breast and prostate cancer, osteoporosis, heart disease and symptoms of menopause. Many of these health benefits are caused by the presence of Isoflavon compounds.

Some of the positive effects of Isoflavon compounds are directly due to their similarity to estrogen. Similarity to estrogen means that phytoestrogens compete with estrogen to access cellular estrogen receptors. This means, for exampleCancer -dependent chylity. The same compounds can also alleviate menopausal symptoms by imitating the effects of estrogen when the natural levels of the estrogen body fall.

Unlike these protective effects, it is assumed that isoflavone compounds that are also phytoestrogens have negative effects on fertility. Evidence to support this indication includes observations that sheep graze on a large amount of clover, reduced fertility. The plant is a member of the legume family and produces phytoestrogens.

It is believed that excessive consumption of food containing isoflavone will slightly reduce fertility in men. Some studies suggest that women who have breast cancer or have breast cancer should be cautious with excessive soy consumption. This is due to the possibility that a large number of phytoestrogens can support the growth of estrogen -dependent tumors.

There are currently no clear guidelines of phytoestrogens that are considered safe or potentiallynoxiously. The results of many studies are in direct conflict, suggesting that the image of the safety and efficacy of phytoestrogens is at best incomplete. Eating soy products in medium quantities is generally considered safe, but excessive consumption should be avoided.
