What is Durian?
known as the "King of Fruit", Durian is rarely visible outside Southeast Asia. Durian, named for the Indonesian word, which means "thorny", resembles an immature coconut with spine covering its strong green bark. The mnono of this fruit is infamous as its strangely disgusting odor, yet it is sweet and tasty.
Partner with Queen of Fruit, Mangosteen, Durians grows primarily in the plantations in the jungles of Sumatra, Malaysia and Thailand. When they are ripe, they fall from tall trees similar to elms and create a danger to anyone walking under it. They can then be divided by a sharp knife or chisel. Inside you will find smooth meat or aril in sections such as nutty meat. Hidden in the body is five brown, inedible seeds. Once mature, they rotate very quickly, so it is not possible to export them to Europe or America. The five segments The -rind should be slightly separated, so you can insert the knife between them.
