What is Pebe?
Pebete is a type of Argentine sandwich, similar to American blt. The term pebete It is usually assumed that it will stand PBT - bread or Pan in Spanish, bacon and tomatoes. However, the term applies to fungal but crispy bread, not sandwich ingredients.
Since pebete is yeast bread, yeast is required. Usually, rapidly growing yeasts are used, unlike active dry yeasts, which are often used in the production of bread. It also includes flour, sugar, salt and butter. Some recipes can also mix sourdough into the dough. Sourdough comes from San Fransisco and is created with flour, milk, yeast and water, as well as normal yeast bread. However, yeasts used are local wild yeasts that lend bread more acidic taste than a commercially made variety.
In order to produce pebete bread, yeasts are first dissolved in warm milk. Then the other ingredients areEnce mixed and dough to rest for a short time while it rises. The dough should have a consistency similar to pizza dough. If the flower is also used, it is made separately and placed in a mixture of dough with the rest of the ingredients. However, it does not use rapidly rising yeast to Sourdough, so it will take much longer to rise.
After climbing the dough pebete is cut and converted into roughly circular shapes that are pulled into inflated oval. The ovals are then placed on a baking tray and leaving again to rise. Once the second climb is completed, the buns are usually brushed eggs before they are placed in the oven to cook. The completed pebete bread will have a crunchy, brown exterior and a spongy soft interior.
Some recipes do not propose to clean the top of the buns before cooking. Instead recommend combining corn starch or corn flour with water to formThe thin paste may be brushed through the bread either before or after cooking. This is sometimes called "painting" bread.
pebete bread can be made manually or for the bread manufacturer. In Argentina it is commonly found in bakeries. Although it can be eaten separately, only pebete bread is used to make sandwiches pebete
