What is the pickled fig?
pickled fig is a type of fruit preserved by vinegar or other acidic solution. Either fresh or dried figs are cooked in spices and vinegar, then shaken, usually using canned. Pickled figs can be consumed separately, which are used as icing for breads or meat, or paired with other dishes.
Although fresh figs are often used for pickling, dried figs can also be used. If fresh figs are used, they should always be completely ripe before processing. Some recipes also indicate the dissolution of edible soda in boiling water, pour water over figs and allow fruit to soak before starting the mating process. Spices are also often included and sometimes lemon juice is also added. Sugar and vinegar are key elements, but the type of vinegar used varies. White, apple or red wine can be used.
