What is a pork plant?
Pork plant is a device where pigs are defeated, cleaned, processed and ready for sale. Pork plant can also be used to process meat from other animals such as cattle, lamb and bison, except pigs. Generally speaking, the mass plant processes one type of animal for one day and then prepares a device for processing another type of animal on another day.
pigs are processed in a pork plant in general when they are four to seven months old. In many devices, animals are led into slaughterhouses via a winding track that is designed to reduce the level of stress to animals by limiting its visibility only to the animal in front of it. Lowering the level of animal stress helps to make it easier to achieve the defeat process, is considered more humane and also improves the taste and texture of meat.
Another gallop in the pork plant includes a stunning pig that makes the animal unconscious and unable to feel pain.Various mass plants use different stunning methods with several most stunning ways, including the use of carbon dioxide or electrical tools to draw an unconscious animal. Once the pig is unconscious, raised by the back legs to allow the artery in the throat. Blood in the animal is then allowed to drain from the carcase, in a process that normally takes about five minutes. Mask plants that process animals based on Jewish instructions for Kosher or Muslim halal do not allow a stunning animal before defeat.
Several phases of the process in the pork plant include cleaning, cutting, preparation and storage of carcasses for possible sales. In many plants, the first step is to remove any hair on carcasses. Once it is completed, the pigs are evisced, which means that the internal organs - such as heart, lungs and intestines - along with the head are removed and carcass bodies are divided in half. Organs, which are considered edible, often referred to as offal, are separated from organs that are not edible.
Criminals are often cut into separate parts. Pork sides and abdomen are often used to produce bacon or ribs, stopwatch or rump pig is used to make ham, ram is used for various slices of pork, while the arm is often used for roast. The meat can then be stored in chilled units in the pork plant until they are distributed for sale or further processing.
