What is the princess?

The princess is a traditional Swedish dessert, which consists of layers of cake covered with pastry cream and rich marzipan icing. When it is well created, the princess cake looks very elegant and it can also be quite tasty, especially when consuming on the day it is made. Creating one certainly requires some preparation, but it can be worth it because the cake represents so beautiful. The cake is also surprisingly versatile, because while it is carefully defined, each component can be individually changed for a unique look and taste. In order to create a princess cake, the chef spread the thin layer of jam on the cake layer, follows with pastry, adds another layer of cake and repeats the process. The whole cake is a matte bread to keep the crumbs, and then a rolled marzipan leaf is placed over the cake. The cake can be decorated with pipes with flowers and other ornaments and is maintained under cooling until it is served. Some chefs use a mushroom cake that is thicker, for a more intense cake of princesses. EXothic chefs can even use a chocolate or root cake, although these deviations test the princess boundaries. The cake can also be briefly soaked in a slight syrup solution for further moisture and taste.

Any flavor of jam can be used in the princess cake, from simple raspberry to more exotic kumquat. The use of multiple types of jam is also absolutely acceptable and can create interesting layers of taste. Importantly, the jam layers in the princess cake are kept thin. The bread cream can be replaced by whipped cream, although whipped cream is more susceptible to collapse, which is not desirable.

Finally, specification cake must be completed with a smooth layer of marzipan icing, which is traditionally colored light green. It may be difficult to work with Marzipan, but one chefs hang it up, it's relatively easy to use. When used as icing, Marzipan is usually introduced, almost like a dough and then discarded at DotyCake.

In most cases, the princesses will be made as the only large round or protocol, while the individual portions are cut as needed. However, ambitious bakers can make individual cups as a special treatment. Creating princess cakes on a small scale like this requires patience and stable hand, but the final result can be quite charming.
