What is Zongzi?
zongzi is a type of Chinese dumpling rice that is cooked inside the cover of a banana leaf. There is no correct recipe for Zongzi, except that it consists of sticky rice that is packed in bamboo leaves or other variety of large leaves. Glutin rice creates a substantial dumpling that can range from very small to very large. Rice is most often filled with ingredients including pork, chicken, mung beans, egg yolks, chestnuts, seafood or almost everything that can be contained in rice. Packets are either cooked in boiling water - sometimes for hours - until everything is done or can be steamed. When it is cooked, the rice emits a considerable amount of gluten and creates it into a heavy dough of similar matter. The rice must be soaked overnight before it is used to prevent it from turning quickly into a solid inventhy. Although soaked, rice usually does not cook before filling into bamboo leaves.
The filling inside the rice can be any combination of different ingredients or nothing at all. Zongzi, which does not have a filling, is sometimes consumed as a sweet treatment with icing such as sugar, syrup or honey. Inside the rice can be a combination of meat such as pork, chicken, sausages or fish. This is usually accompanied by vegetables such as beans, mushrooms, onions or sprouts. Sometimes, for further taste, highlighting objects such as soy sauce, egg yolks or powder dry shrimp are added.
The most difficult part of the cause of Zongzi is to pack rice and other filling in bamboo leaves, because it requires both the prepared physical coordination and with prepared ingredients. One of the methods is to take two of the bamboo leaves that have been soaked or warmed up and put them together and put them together as a fan. The leaves are then formed into the cone and some uncooked rice is inserted into the cone. Furthermore, the filling of the spoon is over the top of the rice, but it is not enough to fill the rest of the cone. NAkonec is placed on the top of the filling and the leaves are folded to seal everything before it is tied to the motion.
Zongzi is cooked or steamed until everything can cook, which may take several hours, depending on the ingredients. Dumplings are usually given inside their bamboo leaves and open at the table by the person who is eating. They can be served with chili sauce, soy sauce or sesame oil.
