What is kifli?
kifli is a Hungarian bread that rolls into a crescent -shaped shape, similar to the French croissant. The dough is a bouncy and made of flour, water, eggs, warm milk and sometimes sour cream. After baking, the kifli can be immersed in soups and sauces or cut in half for sandwiches. Some recipes require kifli to coat in sesame seeds or roasted fillings and cheese or just cheese. The name "kifli" can also be used to indicate a number of holidays of sweet cookies and pastries that have no relation to the role of a similar croissant. This is done by adding powdered yeast to a mixture of warm milk, small flour and some sugar. Once the porridge begins to bubble, it is ready for use. Flo add oil, egg whites, sour cream and baking powder and mixed until mostly smooth. After the dough has joined and is cohesive, it is transferred to a floured surface.
dough inIt is kneading to develop a durable texture in most roast breads. When the dough has a smooth and silk surface texture, it must be postponed and left to rest. During this time, yeast creates gases that cause kifli to increase, sometimes doubling the volume.
The bread is returned to the floured surface and again kneaded. This step removes large and undesirable air bubbles from the inside of the dough. The completed dough is then divided into small, the same parts, depending on the desired Kifli size. Each of the pieces is rolled into a flat circle and cut off from the center to the triangular wedges.
The individual wedge is taken by the edge opposite the point and slowly rolled until it is in the form of a rolledlar that narrows at each end. The protocol is bent into a crescent shape and placed on a baking tray. At this point, sesame seeds can be sprinkled at the top. Rolls are baked until they are done and can be served warm.
One variation is known as soncas kifli .This involves creating a mixture of meat, usually ham and cheese along with an egg that is used to bind ingredients. The filling is located inside the bread when the dough rolls into the protocols. After baking, the cheese and ham are melted into the dough and provides a spicy delicacy.
