What is aebleskiver?
aebleskiver are Danish pastries that are produced by frying the dough in a special pan. Traditionally, they are served as breakfast food on holidays like Christmas. Some consumers compare them to pancakes because both food tastes similarly. Aebleskiver, however, has a spherical shape rather than a flat, with a crispy outer layer and a soft fluffy core. Some people may be more familiar with this food in the form of "Danish ball pancakes", which is sometimes how they are translated for English speakers. To create this food, the indentation in a specially designed cast iron pan is filled with butter and the pan heats up until the butter begins to foam.
