What is Almogrote?
Almogrote is a cheese bowl that has a soft but somewhat strong texture, ideal for bread spread. It comes from the Canary Islands, especially in La Gomera. Many people also consider food to be Spanish cuisine because the Canary Islands are one of the Spanish autonomous communities. In addition to blurring bread, Almogrot can also be used for vegetables such as potatoes and tomatoes.
There are two possible derivatives for the word "almogrot". Some say it comes from the Arab term "Al Mojrot", which is translated to mean "cheese sauce". Both of these possible derivatives speak of how Canaan cuisine has influences from Arabic and Spanish culture.
