What is Arroz con leche?

Arroz con leche literally translates into Spanish on milk rice, but the term usually concerns the delicious version of the rice pudding, popular in Spain and many Latin American countries. It is often considered to be a final comfort meal and you will find many bloggers who sing their praise and share memories of food prepared by beautiful moms, grandmothers and aunts when they were small and grew up in Mexico, Venezuela or Cuba to name only a few countries where they were loved. Sometimes the recipes of American rice puddings cheat by adding boiled rice to the cooked pudding. With the actual arroz con leche, uncooked rice is slowly boiled with milk and sugar (or condensed milk). It can contain raisins and can be cooked with a cinnamon rod or sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg after completion. Several recipes require the addition of lemon or orange peel during the cooking process is often eaten by the arroz con leche just after cooking with the heels of the butter at the top.

recipes for this delicious food differ, but most of them are quite easy. It seems that the biggest mistake is not to mix the mixture of rice and milk every minute or two to make sure the rice does not stick to the bottom of the pelvis, and keeps the heat very low to prevent its burning. Some recipes also administer designs for rice type for use and recommend that you use a short grain of white rice for the best results, such as Arborio Rice. Several recipes also invite you to add vanilla or splashing brandy to make the food tastier.

You may be able to find Arroz Con Leche in Latin American restaurants and it is definitely worth trying. If you want to increase its health value, try to make it at home with brown rice as a snack that is not only good but also good for you, even if it contains Little sugar. Brown rice changes the consistency slightly because it is not as sticky as white rice, but gives you a healthy portion of fiber.

poisonThe Arroz Con Leche, which is popular, is called Arroz Con dulce. Instead of using cow's milk, rice is cooked with coconut milk. If you are looking for a way to create a vegan variant of this rice pudding, Arroz Con Dulce or Arro-Do Cream and Excellent Results.
