What is Malida?

Malida is a traditional dessert meal from South Asia, namely the Hyderabad area in southern central India. It consists of a dough made of milk powder, sugar, ghee and half filled with almonds, cashews or other nuts and flavors. Food is popular among Muslim and Hindu communities and is often served on holidays or parties. It can also be spent on Maleed and is one of the many traditional regional meals from the Hyderabad area. These ingredients include mumoline (sometimes called rava), ghee and optional, pink essence. Semolina, or Rava, is a small, hard grain made of bacteria and starch of wheat. It is used in many breads and cereals. Ghee is a type of cleaned butter that is widely used in South Asian meals. Rose Essence is extracted from roses plant and is used as an aroma in Malida.

Khoya is another basic ingredient. It is a product based on dairy products that has a similar texture to Ricotta cheese, but slightly dry. It is also often called khoa and usedIt is in many South Asian dessert recipes. It can be prepared from a full -fat milk powder or purchased in a finished form.

Malida dough is made by a combination of wheat and ghee to make the dough to make and then add Khoya and eggs to achieve the desired consistency. Khoya is often baked in a pan before adding to the dough. After Malida is ready, it is decorated with nuts or other accompaniment. As is often the case with traditional recipes, there are many ways to make malida, and recipes are often passed on generation to generation in Muslim and Asian families.
