What is eintopf?
literally means "one pot", eintopf is German goulash. Although it usually has meat and vegetables, eintopf refers to how this food is cooked than in the inclusion of ingredients. Since there is so much flexibility in the ingredients, this goulash allows creativity in its preparation and is a good choice for people who have excess vegetables trying to find use. The most commonly used types of German sausages called Mettwurst , Polish sausage or bacon. However, it is not necessary in this stew. As in many stews, potatoes are usually a component in eintopf , but can be replaced by lentils or rice. Carrots and onions are also common accessories. Often green vegetables such as green beans and herbs, like garlic are included. For more adventurous, more unconventional ingredients, such as apples, can also be included. Some specific recipes require stricter ingredients. For example, Kohlrabi eintopf is made with a turnip commonly called Kohlrabi. Recipes that require a pressure cooker may sometimes be pEqualized at the top of the stove unless the pressure cooker is unavailable. However, the cooking time must be adjusted by the difference, as it takes longer than the pressure time to cook at the top of the stove.
