What is fruits?
Fruments are a type of wheat porridge that was popular since the medieval era to the mid -19th century. It was made of cracked and cooked wheat and many recipes demanded adding eggs, milk, sugar and spices. It was often used in dessert forms, but some cultures prepared it with various masses as a main dinner.
The basic recipe for fruments varied throughout history. First, the wheat was pounded and separated from the hulls, then cooked into milk, cream or broth until it reached the gel consistency. Then a spice or sweetener was commonly added. If the color was required, it was usually achieved by mixing in a pinch of saffron.
In medieval Europe, fruments were often made of broth meat and served with game. During the Lent, when meat consumption was not allowed for religious reasons, it was usually made of almond milk instead of cow's milk. It was also commonly administered with the Božvo Tail or Porpoise. Due to food was considered to be fish, not meat, and therefore it is a pileit is.
In the 16th century, the fruits were commonly administered as part of Sunday food in the UK. The holidays fall on Sunday between Pancake, also known as Mardi Gras and Easter. For this tradition, a son or daughter would usually bring a bouquet of petters or violet for her mother, as well as a small gift. In return, the mother would often provide a bowl of fruits, a glass of beer and a blessing for a child.
Until the 19th century, the fruits became the foundation during the Christmas Eve dinner. It was usually served next to the cheese, the apple cake and the yule cake. This dinner was also part of the Yule ritual. Before dinner, the Yule protocol was placed on the fire and the Yule candle was lit and built on the table to avoid throwing it away. The household's wife would save a piece of Yule until the next Christmas. It was assumed that this event during the year protects the house from fire.
Fruments are still produced in modern times, usually asBreakdog bowl, although food is much less popular than once. Modern recipes require the addition of ingredients such as raisins, pine, cherries or even rum. Although there are many variations, the basic method of preparation remains essentially the same. However, one of the main differences is the amount of cooking time. Today it may take about half an hour to prepare a dose of fruments. Traditional recipes could require up to three days of preparation.
