What is Jamaican coffee?
Jamaican coffee can apply to several types of coffee grown in Jamaica. Most often, when coffee is discussed from Jamaica, Jamaican blue mountain coffee, which is one of the most sought -after (and most expensive) coffee in the world, is meant. The area and altitude can be more important than the type of beans and usually the most coffee beans are the most important coffee.
Blue Mountain can be confusing. Some coffee sold outside Jamaica can be a mixture of Blue Mountain and other DRThe umbrella of coffee and should clearly indicate that they are a mixture. In addition, some coffee is sold as a type of blue Mountain, which may not contain any coffee that is grown or baked in Jamaica, but it is said to be closer to the taste.
As already mentioned, there are other types of Jamaican coffee. The high mountain can apply to coffee grown at high altitudes that are not in the Blue Mountain area, or that are below specific heights where blue mountain beans are grown. Prime Coffee is another type of coffee that could be grown anywhere in Jamaica.
Due to the significant change in the types of Jamaican coffee grown, taste and prices has great differences. It can be said that most types are celebrated for a slight taste with little bitterness and there is some justifiable comparison between Kona's coffee and Jamaican styles. This softness and smoothness that does not sacrifice the taste and almost sweet quality is particularly recorded in higher pricethe soil of coffee from the island.
