What is Labskaus?
Labkaus is a bowl popular in German cuisine, with variations throughout Scandinavia, which consists of potatoes, beef or salted meat and onion. There are a number of ways to prepare this meal, although most products usually combine mashed potatoes with salted meat and other flavors. Some recipes require this mixture to be served with different parties, including pickled beets, fried eggs and pickled sequence. Labskaus can also be prepared with some of these sides mixed with potato and meat, often including sliced beets and beet juices that give a bowl with a red or pink shade. Its continuing popularity in some parts of northern Germany is probably due to such sailors in this area as its permanent popularity in areas such as Denmark and Norway. Labskaus can be prepared in many ways and serve with a wide range of attachments. Using salted meat and pickled parties made it a favorite food among the poor, althoughhas gained popularity among rich individuals. Potatoes are cubic or chopped and cooked in boiling water until soft, usually with some salt. They are then removed from the water, released and crushed by masher potato.
Salted meat is a cube and roasted in a pan together with sliced onions until soft and golden brown. This mixture is then combined with mashed potatoes to create Labskaus, and it is somewhat similar to beef and hash in England and other areas. Although this process creates a very basic Labkaus, there are a number of changes and accessories that can also be made for this meal.
Labskaus is commonly served with mounting bowls such as cucumbers, fried eggs, pickled beets and pickled with herring. The pickled beet is sometimes added to potatoes, meat and onion, along with a small amount of beet juice to improve the taste of the bowl and provide hash red or pink. Some recEPTY also requires pickled gherkins to be cut and added to hash, although it is somewhat less common than simply serving cucumbers on the side. Loaded sequence is also often served in addition to this dish, usually in the form of Rollmops , which consist of a slice of monitored onion or cucumbers.
