What is malt milk?
Sweetened milk is a barley powder, wheat flour and malt powder that is combined with milk to form a drink. Malt milk is often added to milk shames to add sweetness and taste. Only non -diastatic malt powder is used as an aroming agent in malt milk, while diastatic malts are used in baking to help the breads rise by breaking starch into sugar.
Historically, the term in 1887 in 1887 was a pharmacist and his brother, William, in the factory in Racene, Wisconsin. Both brothers started Horlick Food Company by creating a powder that could be added to the milk to make it fortified for a grim infant. For more than six years, Horlick Brothers tried to improve their product and in 1887, producing the very first whole milk in powder form. While it was originally sold for infants, the product quickly gained popularity, especially among explorers, for its comfort and an indefinite life. Horlick's malt milk was widels availableEven in pharmacies as a powder and tablet, and pharmacists began to use powder to make cheap syrup to match soda. The sweet powder could be flavored and added to the ice cream to form a thick and filling a drink with a high fat content. The combination of powder and ice cream was sold as a complete meal in and usually applied a high price.
Sweetened Milk has since been in addition to drinks. In 1939 it was added to Overland Candy Company to its Candy Giants product. After merging with the Leaf brand, the product was re -released in 1947 under the name Woppers ™. It is also used in biscuits, baguels, hot drinks and as ice cream.
While usually high fat and sugar content, malt milk is rich in vitamins and minerals.
