What is Roselle?

Roselle is a type of hibiscus that grows white to light yellow flowers that have a dark red spot on each petal. The plant produces bright red fruit when it ripens, which lasts about six months. Roselle is often used as a herbal remedy for many different symptoms and diseases. Herbal products should not be used without consulting a doctor first.

Roselle is used as diuretic and laxatives. The flower can also protect heart function in some patients. Herbal drugs and teas containing roselle can reduce blood pressure because it is assumed that the plant has antihypertensive properties. Other healing roses include teas to alleviate coughing, digestion, stimulation of healthy kidney function and soothing colds and sinus infection. It is also assumed that creams made of leaves help to treat ulcers and wounds. Plant sheets can be heated and applied to the skin to bring cooking and ulcers to be treated.

Roselle flowers are commonly used in herbal teas. The flowers give a bright red color of teas with the flavor of the berry. Roselle tea is commonly sold on the street dealers in Africa. This tea is an important part of Christmas celebrations in many parts of the Caribbean and the Trinidad and Tobago brewery makes beer combined with Roselle tea. In Thailand, tea is often used as a treatment of high cholesterol.

Fruits are used in many different dishes and spices and are often used in fruit salad. The supplement from fruit and peanuts is common in Africa. Jams, jelly and sauces often contain roselle fruit, especially when used as pastries. The syrup made with fruit is often added to the icing, pudding and gelatin.

Cold beverages made of leaves and floor plants are popular in Africa and the Caribbean. Drinks are often filled and sold, similar to lemonade. Liqueurs and wines made from the race and its excerpts are produced in Europe and in the connectedof the states. Roselle seeds can be grounded and roasted like coffee; Roselle coffee is more common in Africa than in other parts of the world.
