What is Sate Cambing?
Sate Cambing is a type of Indonesian Satay made of goat, lamb or mutton. Like Shish Kebab, Satays are grilled, skewers. Unlike Shish Kebabs, however, Satays are always marinated before grilling and do not include vegetables on skewers. Especially popular in Malaysia and Singapore, Sate Cambing is usually marinated in soy sauce -based liquid and is generally served with a sauce that has a similar ingredient to the marinade.
Marinade for Sate Cambing always has a soy sauce. Depending on the version, a sweet or ordinary soy sauce may be used. They are also usually included in the marinade lemon or lime juice, garlic and onion. Shalots are included in some versions instead of onion and the lime leaves can be added if the lime juice is used. Chillie and tomatoes are also in some versions. Peanut sauce or spicy or sweet soy sauce are the most common choices. Peanut sauce, made by grinding roasted peanuts, fromIt also allows spices such as garlic and red chilli. Brown sugar, lemon juice, coconut milk and soy sauce are also often added to the peanut sauce. Soy -based sauces often have chili, lime juice and shallots, except sweet or spicy soy sauce.
Although the versions are lamb and mutton and mutton versions abundant, sate cambing is traditionally produced with a goat. The meat is a cube and may or may not be spying before marinating. Although the number varies depending on the size of the cubes, it is usually placed on each skewer about four or five pieces of meat.
