What is Scotch?

Scotch is its own name for whiskey produced in Scotland, although other countries produce similar grain -based liqueurs. In Ireland, the same basic product can be called Irish whiskey, while American whiskey is often called bourbon. Most Scottish whiskey is considered to be mixed, which means that the final product is a carefully mixed combination of up to 50 separate individual malt whiskey created specifically for mixing. To form malt Scottish whiskey, barley grains first cleaned and soaked in baths for several days. This dried malt grain is then mixed with hot water to form a sweet liquid called wort . This young man is the basic component of malt Scottish whiskey. Wort is carefully drawn from a rieking tank, called a mash in Scotland. As soon as the wort cools down sufficiently, it is stored in another fermentation tank. Scottish whiskey are actually distilled twice. Washing is heated until alcohol changes into steam. The steam is led by a series of twisted tubes into a cooling VAT, where it becomes liquid again. This Liquid is distilled for the second time and the results are collected in oak barrels for long -term storage.
