What is srirach?
Srirach is a chili sauce that comes from Thailand. Outside Thailand, Srirach has evolved to slightly differ from their original, which caused some of the Thais to be confused when they were offered by Srirach while traveling, and created the same dismay in visitors to Thailand when they were confronted with the Srirach Thai style. Most Asian markets carry this sauce and have become widely popular in many areas of the world, often appearing in very special places. Srirach paste is usually also flavored with garlic to provide it with another bite. Depending on how much sugar is used, the sauce can simply be incendiary or hot with a complex layer of sweetness. Many companies also produce flavored srirach with other ingredients such as Lemongrass or Lime. In Thailand, Srirach is a traditional locally produced spice, one of the many chili sauces available to buy. Usually the sauce is not extremely stable with a shelf that requires cooling after it is inas a result of this open; Outside Thailand, Srirach is often produced with preservatives to keep it at room temperature and the texture tends to be stronger.
