What is strawberry cake?
Strawberry Shortcake is a fruit dessert that seems to be developed in the United States because the first recorded recipe for strawberry cake is from the American south. Food is most often served in the summer, when the strawberries are in the season, and in fact in the 1950s, people organized "shortcuts" to celebrate the beginning of the summer and the first strawberry harvest of the year. This dessert is sometimes available in restaurants and can also be produced at home relatively easily. The Americans tend to use the term "biscuit", while the British prefer "scone" because they reserve "biscuits" to refer to dessert Americans call "cookies". Whatever calls it, shortcake uses a large amount of butter or shortening, which explains the name, and usually a sweetened cake is used for strawberry short cake, sometimes with the addition of spicy ingredients such as buttermilk or lemon peel. Macering softens strawberries and leaches some of the moisture, causing a tasty syrup about the fruit. Generally trWind maceration for about an hour under cooling. If the fruit is allowed to soften for too long, it will turn into mash and camouflage.
Once the fruit is softened, a cake that is traditionally round is cut in half and forms the upper and lower part. The lower part is applied, covered with macerated fruit and decorated with whipped cream and then applied to the upper part and the process is repeated. The final result is a layered dessert with a crying, strawberries and whipped cream with strawberry syrup The macceration process adds moisture. For a silk presentation, some people use pastries to make strawberry shortcuts, assemble a short cake inside the ring and then pull out the ring to leave a neat column on the board.
In some regions, people use mushroom cakes instead of cakes, often bake individual mushrooms with small cavities that can be filled with strawberries. Residings of baked cake bark are also used for strawberry cake in some cornersthe world, especially in the American south. Purists, however, prefer a high quality cake made of fresh cream and butter because it has a light, scaly, tender texture that pairs the juicy fruit beautifully.
