What is Wehani Rice?
Wehani Rice ™ is a reddish -brown color variant of long grained rice. Wehani was derived at the end of the 20th century from the seeds of Basmati rice. Rice is very aromatic when it is cooked and tends to separate into individual grains rather than cluster like other types of rice. The farm gained a variety from Indian rice Basmati. Basmati rice is usually known for its delicate taste and smell, as well as a free flowing grain when it is cooked. The origin of Basmati also gave the property of unusually long grains to the derivative of Wehani. Wehani Rice ™ is a trademark Lundberg Family Farms. The farm, which is a family operation founded in 1937, is also the only producer of rice variety. The name is the mnemonic derivative of the names of the brothers Wendell, Eldon, Homer, Albert and Harlan Lundberg. Wehani Rice ™ is turned on about 150 organic products offered by the Lundberg family farm.
The grain of Wehani Rice ™ resembles wild rice. It is brown red color and when it is ready, instead of closing the grains separate from each other. When cooking, wehani is known svou walnut scent. Wehani Rice can also have a slightly chewing texture that is more common for brown rice types.
When buying Wehani Rice ™, it is important to ensure that the cores are intact and undamaged, without scratches or feasting grain. Rice sells whole grain either pre -borne or in bulk in many health and food stores. At home, the rice should be stored in a closed container in a cool and dry place, far from moisture and in the open air.
Wehani Rice ™ can be prepared using the ratio of two cups of water for each cup of rice. The mixture should be brought to the averaging, then the heat should be reduced to medium and the rice should be covered and cooked until it is tender. Like brown rice, Wehani will take longer than similar grains of white rice, up to about 40 minutes. After cooking, wehani rice ™ can be stored up to seven days in the fridge or frozen for up to six months without poor effects.
