How do you change your brain function?

There are different ways to change the function of the brain, both those that are intentionally performed and those that occur due to injury or illness in brain tissue. Some studies have shown that certain vitamins and nutrients can change the way some areas of the brain work. For example, it has been shown that the consumption of high levels of omega-3 fatty acids repairs damaged parts of the brain that controls emotions. Other ways to change the function of the brain is to perform a cognitive increase in exercise. Negative ways to change the function of the brain may occur if you suffer from stroke or dull trauma on your head.

One of the simplest and most famous ways to change the function of the brain is to perform daily exercises designed to increase cognitive abilities. With only any other part of the body, the brain can be strengthened by frequent use. Making problems with word, mathematics and writing can help increase brain function and prevent degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. Studies also showedthat doitho types of activities can even increase your intelligence quotient (IQ).

Another way to change the function of the brain is the use of certain supplements or consumption of foods rich in specific nutrients, amino acids and vitamins. For example, studies have shown that the consumption of large amounts of greasy fish or the use of large doses of Omega-3 supplement was beneficial for those suffering from depression. This is considered that the part of the brain that controls emotions is generally defective in depressive individuals and the fatty acids actually repair this part of the brain, so it is able to function better. Some believe this is why people living in areas that consume a large amount of fish in their daily diet have a much lower degree of depression and mental illness than in Western societies.

Sometimes it is possible to change the brain. Injury or illness such as a thrust can leave parts of a worsened brain and unable to functionnormally. When this happens, it was found that other areas of the brain were able to adapt and compensate the damaged part. An example of this occurs in those who lose sight or hearing. When one meaning no longer works properly, the other senses increased.

The brain can work as well as the senses of the body in other areas of cognitive function. Since some areas are damaged or injured, other areas increase activity so that the organism can continue to function. This is known as plasticity . The amount that the brain is able to recover or maintain function using healthy areas depends on the disease or injury that caused initial damage and how much brain was affected.
