What is bright light therapy?

Therapy of light light, also called light therapy or phototherapy, includes exposure to the patient to intensive light, usually through light. The light box consists of 2,500 to 10,000 fluorescent bulbs with a diffusion screen. The intention is that the light box is imitated by natural outdoor daylight. Treatment of bright light is most commonly used to treat seasonal affective disorders, although it is also used to treat depression and sleep disorders. Treatment of bright light is considered to be the most effective when used during preliminary and post-dusk in autumn and winter when natural light is missing. Phototherapeutic sessions last between 15 and two hours, with most patients having a 30 -minute session. While sitting with light light, patients simply perform normal daily activities such as reading, eating or watching TV.

Light light Therapy is not intended to cure seasonal affective disorders or depression, but may reduce the symptoms of these diseases. It is not clear why the photographicPie works, but it is assumed that replacing the early morning and late afternoon light adjusts the inner clock of the body. By shifting hours, body mechanics such as temperature, sleep and hormones are affected. This physiological effect results in a therapeutic response, but science about why it requires further study.

For users of the Box Light Therapy, there may be some side effects. During the first few sessions, some patients experience headaches, eye pains or nausea. If these effects continue, the therapeutic seating of bright light may be shortened or the patient may move further from the light. A rare reaction to therapy is hyperactivity that makes the patient feel high, irritated, restless, manic and/or agitated.

Some people have conditions or circumstances that are contradicators for phototherapy. People who have eye problems such as glaucoma, cataract orAbout the retina separation, you may not want to use a light box. People who use medicines that warn against exposure to sunlight will want to avoid phototherapy during them. Although the light boxes are created to filter harmful UV rays, people with a history of skin cancer or who have skin conditions, which is to be sensitive to light, should not engage in clear light therapy. Due to the potential risk of damage, people are discouraged from building their own light boxes or to submit to therapy with a clear light without medical counseling.
