What are Arabica beans?
Arabica beans are in fact the seeds taken out of the Coffea Arabica cherry plant and are one of the two types of beans used to make a cup of coffee, the second type is robusta. Arabica beans have less caffeine, less acidity, more aromatic properties and many coffee drinking lovers are considered excellent beans. This is a bean used for more expensive specialty and gourmet coffee found in the United States. Some coffee is made of Arabica and Robusta beans to improve taste and at the same time reduce costs, but coffee that meets the highest required standards is most likely to be produced by 100% of Arabica beans. However, there are many varieties of Arabica beans and can be found in growing in subtropical and equatorial areas of Latin America and Asia, as well as in Africa. Arabica beans are used in about 80% of the world's coffee production, leaving beans a much smaller 20% market share. This is despite the fact that the robusta beans are grown on a much heavier plant andThe finer Coffea Arabica requires very specific climatic conditions.
6 This results in one vegetation period and one season of harvest a year. In the equatorial areas of the plants grow best at altitudes 3600 - 6300 ft (1097 - 1920 m), with frequent precipitation. This results in constant flowering and allow two seasons of harvest. Higher altitudes required for the development of Arabica beans are the reason why Arabica coffee is sometimes referred to as "mountain" coffee.Coffee growing is only the first step of coffee production, of course. When the fruit of the coffee reaches maturation, they are either manually selected or pulled from plants with harvesting equipment. Then two seeds (beans Arabica) are extracted from each berry. They are then dissolved, fermented and finally dried and ready for distribution. The last step to prepare Arabica beans for consumption is baking beans. This removes moisture and meboth the structure and the color of the bean to suit the taste of the coffee drinker. Beans from each area will have a clear taste and smell and will therefore be sought on the basis of preferences of various coffee consumers.
