What are cheese straws?

Cheese straws

are a beautiful cracker usually made of cheddar, flour, butter cheese, and sometimes eggs that combine ingredients together. They can be served fresh and hot from the oven, or they can cool down, which gives them more crispy and burst. You could really define cheese straws that differ in length, with a majority of 3-4 inches (7.62-10.16 cm), as "adult" and higher versions of cheese biscuits such as cheese NIPS®. The famous Mrs. Beeton published a recipe for Cayenne cheeses in her 1861 household management. The book was so popular that it was printed in the US about 10 years later. American recipes took off and recipes for cheese straws or cheese biscuits began to appear especially in southern cookbooks. In the US, these biscuits seem to have been the most popular in the south, Tygh has since gained popularity in other parts of the US. While some modern recipes may indicate that the pipe dough printing cookies, many other recipes indicate that dough jEdnodush cuts into thin shapes of straw. Most people use a kitchen robot in modern times to mix ingredients, but you need to be careful not to overcome or rework the dough.

Fannie Farmer Recipe from the beginning of the 20th century had an interesting method for incorporating bread cheese, especially useful before the arrival of blends and kitchen robotors. The instructions indicate that it is introducing the dough, sprinkling the cheddar cheese into the dough, and then folded it several times, and reversing the dough several times before cutting it into straws. The only problem with this, a simple mixture of cheddar, flour and butter is that it can cause the dough to rework the dough quite easily. If you use this method, you may want to allow the dough to rest for about an hour in the fridge before the second rolling.

Some recipes for cheese straws strongly advocate the use of parmesan, either in full or part of the Čedar replacement. It gives the biscuits salty andsharper taste. The quality of biscuits and their flavors really depend on the quality of the cheese and the type of aroma if they exist, which you use in addition to cheese. Cayenne Pepper is a common choice for aroma, but various recipes differ very much about the type of cheese use, defending Čedar, Edam, cream cheese, blue cheese, parmesan and Asiaga. Probably the best choice is to choose your favorite cheese when you make these biscuits.

If you don't find these biscuits locally, check out online on the Gourmet Foods website and find a number of different straws. Indeed, with the kitchen robot, however, these cheese delicacies are not so difficult.
