What are Chilaquilas?

Chilaquilas, pronounced Chee-Lah-Klíčové-BeiS , are a popular Mexican food traditionally made of three basic ingredients: corn tortiles, salsa and cheese. The basis of Chilaquilas are tortillas that are cut into quarters, strips or squares or smashed into pieces and then fried. Furthermore, fried tortillas are cooked in red or green chili sauces until they absorb part of the sauce and become a little soft and then sprinkle the cheese at the top. You can add a number of other ingredients such as eggs, beans, meat and more, depending on personal preferences.

Chilaquilas can be eaten on any food and are often used for breakfast or brunch when eggs are added. Food is often considered a comfortable meal, which is something that Mexican mothers traditionally cause to use remnants in the kitchen, especially tortillas that become outdated. Various chiloquil recipes often call for daily or slightly musty tortillas. Tortillas that are too fresh or soft withThey may disintegrate when they are mixed with other ingredients. If there are no musty tortillas in the house, it is often recommended to dry the tortillas in the oven.

There are many regional variations in a bowl in Mexico. For example, a white sauce is used in a sinalaa bowl. In Mexico City, a spicy red sauce is used and the dish is ended with a heavily flavored Mexican herb ePzot, which is used in Mexican cooking from the days of the Aztecs. It is assumed that the name "Chilaquilas" comes from "Chil-A-Quiltitl", the word in Nahuatl, the indigenous language of Mexico, which comes from the Aztecs, that is "herbs or green in chili broth". The name of this food is sometimes written as "chilequiles".

Similar food based on tortilla is called "Migas", which is popular in the kitchen Tex-Mex. The term tex-mex applies to food that often occurs in the southwestern United States Texas that mixes the ingredients of American and mExternal cuisine. There are also differences in using sauces and cooking styles.

Migas always contains eggs along with tortilla, salsa and cheese. There may also be variations of preparations, such as Salsa, which is added at the end in Migas rather than to cook tortillas like Chilaquil. However, there are many debates among Mexican and Tex-Mex lovers about whether Chilaquilas and Migas are the same or different meals.
