What are rice cakes?

Rice cakes are refreshments made of rice. They are eaten in many different countries and are made differently in each country or region of the world. In North America and other Western countries, there are round, hard and crispy snacks made of inflated rice. There is a wide range of flavors such as cheese and caramel. Rice cakes are considered healthy and mostly consume refreshments themselves or with icing, such as cheese or peanut butter. They are a popular complement to lunch boxes because they do not get wet and are not chaotic to eat, even if they fall apart.

In addition to regular rice cake, there are also miniature versions. The idea behind them is to have a healthier, crispy alternative refreshment of the size of the bite to potato chips. These can be sold in individual serving packages such as potato chips.

Mochi is traditionally consumed at Japanese New Year's and family celebrations. It is said that refreshments bring happiness and health. Mochi can be consumed with soy flour -based spice called kinako or with other toppings such as seaweed.
