What are rocket green?

Rocket Greens, also known as Rocket, Rocket, Roquette and many other names, are a type of green that has become wildly popular at the age of 90, especially in the kitchen, such as California cuisine. If you grow at home, you want to harvest the leaves just before using them. If you buy rocket vegetables in a grocery store, try to buy them for no more than one or two days before you plan to use them, because they usually don't hold well, even if they cool.

You can add rocket vegetables to the salads of all types by adding a leaf or two spices of a sandwich. They will make an excellent accessory to grilled sandwiches such as panini, where it is slight cooking allows you to pass on another taste. They are also amazing in dough meals or may be added in the last few minutes of cooking to soups or stews for further taste. With healthy vitamins A and C, they increase nutritional content of meals, add a lot of other spicy and textures and have a negligible calorie content.

One use of rocket greens that you think would provide too much contrast is in salads that have pieces of fruit such as mandarins or blood oranges. In fact, pairing sweet citrus and spicy green works remarkably well. Consider the location of such salads with light vinaigrettes (rice wine vinegar provides a nice pure taste).

You can buy rocket vegetables all year round, although they can be most available in the summer months. If you have trouble finding in local grocery stores, check farmers' markets or natural food stores like Whole Foods®. Trades that tend to carry more upscale food will very often have good stocks of these green.
