What is a flat bottom wok?

The flat lower wok is an adaptation of the original round bottom from China. The original can sit on a gas stove or open fire, while it cannot easily sit on a flat surface, such as the upper part of the electric stove without overturning. The flat bottom of the WOKS, popular in western kitchens, was created to easily sit on the upper part of the electric stove or on another flat surface. For high rounded sides, cooking food in a flat bottom can be vigorously pushed around the spatula or thrown into the air by holding the handle. It is used extensively in the Far East and sets off to the west to become a common feature in modern kitchens. The Chinese wok is well known for frying and has a perfectly round -shaped bowl. The food can be thrown and pushed inside the spatula because of this perfectly round shape of half the ball. The semicircular shape helps to prevent food burning, because the heat is distinctive, what the food throws around the lower surface of the pelvis is thrown.

Regular round bottom woks fits well onThe peaks of the gas stove commonly used in the west, but many people use the upper part of the electric stoves that are flat. The rounded WOK base is very unstable on a flat surface and flips and flips. The flat bottom was put into the production of this as a solution.

These woks also have high rounded sides, but the base of the pelvis is flattened, so the wok will not swing from side to side. Some people say it spoils the distribution of heat and therefore leaves the flat bottom more susceptible to food burning. Others, however, disagree and say that the flat lower wok can produce frying as tasty as the original round lower wok.

Flat bottom WOK can also be used to make steamed meat, smoking fish or meat and for boiling food. Like the original Wok, an apartment wok is usually made of cast iron or steel, while the cast iron variety is harder and slower. However, better heat is maintained, potentially straightnursing more food. The traditional round bottom of the WOKS usually has a rounded handle on each side of the bowl. This feature is also available on flat bottom WOKS, but in the west it is also produced with a long wooden handle similar to a regular flat pan.
