What is Empire Biscuit?
Empire Biscuit is one of many Scottish desserts popular throughout the UK. Formally known as German biscuits, dessert is two cookies wrapped around a layer of jam or cream that combines cookies together and creates one solid treatment. Traditionally, the biscuit has a layer of topping over the upper cookies with a cherry or a piece of candies planted in the middle. Biscuits are often home, but packaged versions are also sold across U.K and parts of Europe. Depending on this area, the Empire Biscuit is also called a double biscuit or an imperial biscuit.
