What is Beijinho?
traditionally served at birthday parties and special events, Beijinho is a sweet Brazilian coconut candy. Candy, truffle type, is most often round shape. Although it is known to be served at children's parties, this confectionery is popular for both young and old.
The name of this small, sweet treatment in Portuguese means a small kiss. These children's parties are served small sweets, or docinhos , which are attended by the whole family, from grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins to the youngest children. All are included. Not only are these candies served, but they are packed in festive papers and are used as a birthday table decoration.
Beijinho is similar to the brigadeiro in the way it is made and in the shape. The basic folders of both candies are the same. Named after brigade general Eduardo Gomes, but the Brigadiero is always made of a skacha powder, while Beijinho is a coconut.
In order to mix Beijinho , butter, sweetened condensed milk and coconut before starting the cooking process. The mixture is heated on the stove over a low flame until it is smooth and contains no lumps. Candies is then formed by Valli -soup tablespoons into the balls. The coach is then covered with a large granulated sugar for a sparkling effect or covered with grated coconut. As a decorative piece, some decide to place one clove on the upper part of the candy before serving.
