What is Biennstich?
Biennstich is a German cake made mainly of sweet bread, the filling of vanilla cream and the honey-deceived sliced-almond. Biennstich means "Bee Sting" in German. The name of this food, traditionally consumed as a dessert, but also consumed as refreshments with tea or coffee, denotes its way of origin and there are different accounts. The bee may have been attracted to the honey icing of the cake and as a result he was a baker. After the incident he named his cake.
Another legend attributes the origin of Bienenstich not only a German baker, but several of them.
