What is Caruru?

Caruru is a food that comes from Brazil and is sometimes served in other countries. The primary component is traditionally the edges, with onion, shrimp and toasted nuts added in smaller quantities. This meal is often used as a spice rather than the main dish, but both ways of consuming this food are widespread. In Brazilian cuisine, Carur is often added to the acharajé , which are deeply fried black people that are commonly sold as street food. Caruru is also a city in Colombia, but this place has no relation to food with the same name. Some recipes require the same parts and shrimp.
