What is Hainan Chicken?

Hainan Chicken, which can also be called Hainan chicken or chicken rice, is a popular food in several Asian countries, although it is assumed that it came in China. In Singapore it is so popular that it can be referred to as the country's national meal, but also enjoys Malaysia and Thailand. Each area can have small deviations on the original.

Standard recipes for Hainan chicken include cooking the whole chicken in boiling water. Chicken can be filled with things such as garlic or salt. When the chicken is cooked and cooled, it can be cut or broken into small "pieces of bite size". At the same time, the rice is prepared, which can first be roasted by garlic, shallots and ginger. After cooking chicken and rice, they are combined on the same plate and served with chili sauce or other sauces.

Some changes in the bowl may occur when it is done in Thailand or Malaysia. Rice is sometimes produced by coconut milk with a nice contrast to hot submerging sauces. In parts of Malaysia, especially inMalaccan, the rice can be served in the balls instead of the free period.

Thai version of Hainan Chicken, called Khao Mun Gai, changes its sauces and other ingredients. The immersion contains chilis, also includes a paste made of yellow beans called tancha. Like the Chinese version, however, Thai chicken rice is often served with cucumbers.

In Singapore it is difficult not to find food, mainly because of many Hainan chefs who have influenced Singapore's cuisine. It is served in college restaurants and also popular as food food. Tourists and natives from Singapore love food and explain its wide availability.

When people think of Chinese food, they can think of cantonian and Hunan Styles that are quite popular in Ton us. Hainan chicken comes from different traditions, although its variations can be available in different styles in Chinese food. Interestingly,Hainany comes mainly from a small island just off the southern coast of China, and although originally fishermen, the good number of people emigrated at the beginning of the 20th century or at the end of the 19th century.

Hainan Chicken is just one example of the influence that Hainanese had in Southeast Asia. Fans of food would agree that it is certainly a delicious example, and those who know about food can go out of the way to get it when visiting places such as China, Singapore or Malaysia.
