What is the leblebi?
Leblebi is a traditional Turkish snack, which is generally made from roast chickpeas. Preparing Leblebi can take some time, often for up to several weeks, as beans must be repeatedly baked and left to dry. There are two primary species of Leblebi-one, in which chickpeas retain their hulls and one in which they are removed during processing. This nutritional snack can be served as sweet or salty food. Chickpeas are usually baked in a wooden adobe oven, preferably with wood that produces small smoke. They are usually subjected to initial roasting, then leave in a bag of up to 48 hours, after which the chickpeas is roasted and omitted for at least 15 but not more than 20 days. The chickpeas are then generally contaminated, the holiday rest in bags for 24 hours, roasted hird, allowed to sit for two more days and then bake on recently before they can be eaten. This refreshment is considered a long history. Records suggest that it was already popular in Turkey at the Ottoman Timeíš. Modern scholars, however, very little understand the history and development of this traditional snack.
It is considered to be very nutritious refreshments for vitamins and minerals found in chickpeas. Pers of baked chickpeas usually contains about 350 calories, of which about 45 come from fat. Leblebi contains about 5 grams of fat, but only about 0.7 of these grams comes from saturated fats.
Loblebi does not usually contain sodium, cholesterol or sugar. However, refreshments offer almost 20 grams of protein per serving. It is also considered a good source of diet fibers, with 7.7 grams per serving.
LEBLEBI is usually spiced with pepper, salt, garlic powder, tumerical, olive oil or coriander. Chickpeas can also be sweet after the final baking, making them a type of candy that children enjoy. Leblebi is generally preferred by young, but often people of all ages enjoy it.
