What is a rock candy?

Rock Candy is a candy made of large pieces of sugar that are grown on a chain or wand. Because it is made of pure sugar, rock candies will be naturally clear and extremely sweet. It can be eaten smoothly, melted in sweet drinks or is used as a decoration on desserts. Given that the process of making rock candies is very simple, many people like to do it at home and some teachers use it to illustrate the creation of crystals to young students. The solution has such a high sugar content that no sugar is dissolved in it, causing it to dive into the bottom of the added sugar. The crystal growth substrate, such as a stick or string, decreases into a solution and leaves undisturbed for a few days to a week, allowing crystals on the substrate to form on the substrate, as the water evaporates. When the substrate is removed, it is covered with very large jagged sugar crystals.

Many people add food colored to their rock candies to make it more visually interesting. Can also be added aroma,For people who want to taste something other than pure sugar. Rock candy chopsticks are often available in sweets and along the coast and similar holiday places. Crystallized sugar is also sold in large for the use of the restaurant as a decorative decoration.

If you want to make rock candies, cook one cup of water and add two cups of sugar, stirring and allowing the mixture to cook again. This quantity, if desired, can easily increase or decrease if you keep the same ratio. When the sugar has completely dissolved, pour the water into the container and soak the string or retain it. If you want to add colors or aroma, do it after the sugar dissolves, but before you pour it into a glass. Once the string is saturated, pull it out and allow it to dry. This creates seed crystals that will all have sugar crystals to be larger and more even.

jIf the stick or string is dry, immerse it in a container of melted sugar and let it sit until large crystals are formed. Try to avoid moving or twitching the vessel because it may disrupt the formation of crystals. Once the crystals have been created, rock candies can be removed from the glass and served or wrapped in wax paper for later consumption.
