What is the smoked mozzarella?

Smoked mozzarella is a type of cheese that is flavored with smoke. Traditionally, mozzarella cheese was made of water buffalo milk. Because the water buffalo is rare and live only in a few countries, most types of smoked mozzarella are made from cow's milk. In particular, two methods are used to produce smoke mozzarella; One method saturates cheese with real smoke, while the other coats the surface of the cheese with liquid smoke. Smoked mozzarella can be used in different salty dishes. In some cases, whey is used instead of hot water. The anger of curd, also called spin or strings, causes the resulting cheese elastic and smooth. After creating mozzarella, it is shaped into the ball and cooled with cold water. Unlike other cheeses, mozzarella is not aging and lasts only a few hours.

Once mozzarella cheese is made, it can be smoked either by the manufacturer or in the human house. Smoked mozzarella can be made by setting cheese into a chamber with smoking wood chips. There are generally two ways of smoking usingwood chips, hot and cold way. For the production of any type of smoked cheese is a convenient cold method.

If the cheese reaches more than 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius) during the smoking process, it can begin to sweat or even melt. For the best results, there are usually smoking wood chips in a separate chamber than the cheese itself. Smoke still reaches the cheese, but the heat is dispersed.

Another method of production of smoked mozzarella does not include chips or smoking. In some cases, the cheese will be painted on the outside in a liquid form of smoke. Other manufacturers can add liquid smoke flavor to the mozzarella is made. While smoked mozzarella made in a smoker or painting exterior with liquid smoke is not evenly flavored, adding liquid smoke to milk before making cheese means that the whole piece of cheese will have a smoke taste.

Smoked Mozzarella cheese can be used toDecoli where regular mozzarella is used if smoke taste is preferred. In the pasta or at the top of the pizza, it goes well. Cheese pairs well with tomatoes and pesto also in a sandwich.
