What is sucrin sodium?

saccharin sodium, also referred to as saccharin, is most often called a widely used artificial sweetener. The compound is assumed that it is 300 to 500 times sweet as conventional sugar or sucrose. Saccharin sodium can be found in catering soft drinks, syrups, baked goods, ice cream and other sweet foods and drinks. Artificial sweeteners are used by people who want to reduce their consumption of sugar and calories, but still consume sweet tastings and drinks. Although it is certainly most used in food products, sodium sucrin is also used in the chemical and agricultural industry as a help in the production of herbicides and pesticides. It is also used as part of a solution used to shoot metals such as gold and nickel.

This sweetener was discovered as a derivative of the coal tar from Constantin Fahlberg, who then worked on John Hopkins University in the IRA Remsen laboratory. Fahlberg discovered a sweet taste and linked it to the chemical compound he studied. Shortly afterwardsSacachin was commercialized, although popular use did not appear only during the First World War, when there was a lack of sugar. Its modern popularity and place in society over the past 50 years can be traced to its use by consumers who are looking for a sugar -free sweetener, low calorie sweeteners because of their expected health benefits.

Although sodium sucrin is odorless, colorless and has a pleasant sweet taste, in the past it has been controversially identified as a carcinogen. The controversy is not caused by the question of whether Sacachin sodium should be classified as carcinogen or not, but whether it is carcinogenic for people. It has been buzzed that there are less than significant carcinogen in animals. Carcinogenicity in animals does not necessarily indicate carcinogenicity in humans, so it is best said that sodium sucrin is perhaps carcinogenic for humans.

In food products, this sweetener is commonly used in combination with other artificial sweeteners such as aspartame and cyclama. When used withAspartame is sucrin sodium useful because it has a longer life of the shelf, so the drink retains its sweetness. In the case of cyclamate, the combination is usually used because each sweetener is used to cover the flavor of the other.
