What is Teppanyaki?

Teppan means iron plate and Yaki is translated as grilled or fried. Together they create the term Tepanyaki, which usually means food grilled on an iron grate or plate. In restaurants there are iron plates of large flat surfaces on which more food can be prepared, and this includes grilled meat and vegetables of various species. Other times, people in restaurants can get to grill their own meals on smaller plates located at each table.

Many people are familiar with Tepanyaki prepared in Japanese style restaurants in other countries such as Benihana. The excitement of watching food prepared and the grill remains fun and these restaurants were called Japanese steakhousies because they often use beef. In Japan, the Tepanyaki restaurant usually takes care of tourists and not the Japanese and Misono owns the most famous chain of these restaurants. Misono introduced cooking style in restaurants in 1945 at Japan and spolEquities like Benihan followed a suit by creating restaurants in the US at the age of 60. The exception is when such restaurants are being prepared by Okonomiyaki, a cake that is fried on the grate and contains various ingredients such as fish or pork. These can be made in Restaurants of Tepanyaki, but are also popular in various Japanese restaurants of other types.

It is easy to see that Tepanyaki refers more to the cooking method than a specific meal. Meals prepared by this method can be variable. Another important element of dining in the Tepanyaki or Hibachi restaurant is a chef who is used especially in restaurants like Benihana. Many chefs are trained to not only prepare a Delice Food, but also juggle, make quick cutting and otherwise entertain guests. This, more than anything that is served in such a restaurant, can be its final attraction, although many guests tIf foods prepared by this method.

Many prepared meals use simple ingredients. The main can be meat or fish, vegetarians, spices and small soy oil. Some restaurants serve food with soy sauce or other sauces and can offer guests the opportunity to eat chopsticks or forks. Most of the food is prepared in pieces of bites to make eating with chopsticks easier, especially for those who do not participate in this method.
