What is tilapia?

"tilapie" is an umbrella term for many fish species in the Cichlidae family. It is a term used for three types of fish: oreochromis, sarotherodon and tilapia fish. One of the unusual characteristics for most cichlid fish is that they are a mouth. This means that when breeding their young people often wear their hatched children in their mouths, especially when traveling from one goal to another and when they perceive danger. Once the fish develop large enough to take care of themselves (and too large to fit between their parents' jaws), they are on their own.

These species in general are located in shallow, freshwater ponds, lakes and streams. Fish are mostly consumed by water plants, algae and some insects of larvae. Due to its specific appetite, tilapia has become quite important in the world of aquaculture. Whether randomly or intentionally introduced into a new water environment, they often create imbalances in the ecosystem.

In this particular case, however, these generally invasive fish were incredibleby blessing. Tilapia was introduced to Kenya to reduce the spread of malaria. Adult female mosquitoes bear illness and fish consume mosquito larvae. Fish, simply with their appetite, helped reduce the number of mosquitoes and therefore spread malaria in Kenya.

Tilapia is also a delicious fish to eat. This tasty white fish can be baked, fried and even added to steamed meat to make meals. Relatively common fish, tilapia is found in a part of the seafood in most food stores. If the local market is not fresh, shoppers may want to look at the purchase of fish in lightning form, which is generally well captured to capture the taste of fish.

For beautiful seafood treatment, fillets can be wrapped on a foil baked in a small amount of butter with a grate green onion, black pepper, lemon and sea salt. For a kick, black pepper can be replaced with red pepper flakes. This meal goes well with simpleHým green salad, baked potatoes and glass Sauvignon Blanc. In fact, most chefs agree that Sauvignon Blanc is the best wine for pairing with tilapia of dishes of any kind.
