What is Varac?
Varac, which is also sometimes speaking "VARK" and "Varakh", is a product used in Indian kitchen to decorate sweets and pastries. It is an incredibly thin foil made of very pure silver. The use of varacus is completely decorative. Although the silver used to produce ornaments is edible, it is usually tasteless. Ingestion of large amounts of silver can cause arggie, a cosmetic disorder in which the skin turns and has a gray or bluish shade. However, the creation of this disorder would require a huge amount of variety, and since such a small amount is used in pastry, it is generally considered safe in normal quantities.
The product is created by pounding silver into very thin foil sheets that are supported by paper. It should be treated gently, because even a light touch can cause it to break and fall apart. Although it is to be made with at least 99.9 percent of silver, which is even cleaner than Sterling Silver, the Kibbylo series found that the NDS Varrac is much less clean, mayChicched with other types of metals such as aluminum or even cadmium. Many vegetarians believe that vaar is not suitable for its diet because there is speculation that the silver foil production process involves the use of animal products.
In order to apply a vaar to food, it must be placed on the top of pastry or sweets while still connected to the paper that supports it. The paper can then be removed. This process allows vinegar to correctly replenish food without having to touch manually, which, as described above, can make the product unusable. Even this process must be carried out carefully to ensure that the incredibly thin silver icing is properly transferred to sweets.
Since it is made of metal, Varak can be stored for an indefinite period. Of course, it is important to store leaves in a cold, dry place that makes sure that the silver has not hurt and that the sheets of the paper between which it is held, do not disappear with moisture or molds. It is not easy to come in the eastern markets. Outside India, this may have to be special or even made by hand.
