What is Zivania?

Lifetime is a stiff alcoholic beverage made on Cyprus. This drink is distilled from the wine mixed with a fermented molding. Zivania is often served with food, but is often used healing. The use of its name is protected by law, so this drink can only be done in the Cyprus country. Similar beverages include Brappa and Grappa. It is used as a disinfection agent and healing solution for wounds, gargle for sore throat and as mouthwash for those affected by teeth fighting. In the mountains surrounding Mount Olympus, it is used as a warming drink during cold weather.

Zivania is a common pairing with local goat and pork dishes such as lountza, smoked pork Bedelence and Tsamarella, refreshments made of dried spicy strips of meat, often goat meat.
